Focuses on Cenozoic snakes, with an emphasis on snake diversity and evolution since the Neogene. Conduct taxonomic studies on Late Cenozoic snake fossils based on the osteological database of extant snakes. By integrating fossil evidence with morphological and molecular data of living taxa, reconstruct the biogeographic dispersal and speciation history of relevant groups driven by climatic and environmental changes. Using three-dimensional geometric morphometric datasets of both extant and fossil snakes investigate the adaptive evolution between skeletal morphology and function in snakes.
