IVPP ZHOU Zhonghe Elected Member of Chinese Academy of Sciences

 
 
Dr. ZHOU Zhonghe, professor and director of Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology (IVPP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), was elected member of Chinese Academy of Sciences, according to the announcement released by CAS on 9th of December, 2011.

The Chinese Academy of Sciences announced the election of 51 new academicians in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research, 90 percent of whom have the experience of studying abroad. The election brings the total number of academicians to 727. The newly recruited academicians have an average age of 52.6, according to the CAS.

Academician is the highest academic title conferred on Chinese scientists and experts working in scientific and technological fields. The title of academician is a lifelong honor.
